My Birthday.
Mini Facts
I was born on May 7th, 1988, which is the Chinese year of the Dragon.
I was born on Saturday May 7th 1988, at 9.40 am.
"Saturday's child works hard for a living"...
This makes me a Taurus, my zodiac stone is Rose Quartz.
My Birth Flower is Lily of the Valley and my birthstone is Emerald.
My Native American Zodiac sign is Beaver.
My 18th.
In England your 18th birthday is seen as one of the most important ones, the other being your 21st. This is because at 18 years old in England we are legally allowed to buy and drink alcohol.
I celebrated my birthday both the day before and on the actual day; this was because my birthday was on a Sunday and as I was having a party the music wouldn't of been able to be loud or on past a certain time. So, I had my party on the Saturday and went out for a meal with my family plus Roy, a family friend whom I've known since I was six on the Saturday.
My Party and Birthday...
My day started by getting a birthday present, namely my tattoo you can read about my experience if you're interested. After my tattoo I went back home to get ready for my party later that evening (7:30pm) and to also greet Roy, who was travelling down from Kent which is about 3 hours-ish away from where I live. Roy arrived in the afternoon at about 2:00pm and was earlier than first expected, he gave me a gold necklace which has diamonds in it (yes, real ones) it is very pretty and I have got it insured, as it's worth a lot to say the least.
I didn't really do a lot on the lead up to my party, just sat around and watched TV lol, while everyone else was getting ready and mum drove Roy to the hotel he would be staying at. When I finally decided to get ready, I showered, Washed my hair, got dressed... Blah, Blah, Blah. You know the usual, then I went with dad to pick up Roy while mum and Kelly (sister) went on to the pub (The Nelson Inn - my party was held in their skittle alley). Dad and I also had an un-scheduled friend pick-up in the form of Mike and Dan (friends from college) who were waiting at a near by church.
Flash forward to my arrival at the party... Some people had already started to arrive, but there was a problem my Disco and DJ hadn't turned up! I had no music! So, off Kelly and mum rush home to get a bunch of my CDs which we put in the CD player and had it blaring out the speakers. Not that anyone seemed to mind at all, they were all enjoying themselves and socialising and when the pub got hold of a replacement Disco and DJ (of which some of my male friends helped out with the set up) nobody seemed to be bothered anyway. lol. But, most people were persuaded to dance. I drank quite a bit that night, and always had at least two bottles in my hands. People just wouldn't stop buying me drinks of various types mostly WKD Blue though as that is one of my favourites after all. Some random guy who 'gate crashed' (whom my mum and I agreed could stay) my party from the pub bought me the strongest shot they had; it went straight to my head! I remember Mark (my boyfriend at the time) asking me to dance to the last song played, which happened to be James Blunt - You're Beautiful.
Loads of my family and friends were at the party, I think I had about 70 or 80 people there in total, if I find the time I may list them all and state what they gave me as presents (if anything).
Mark stayed over at my house that evening, where I opened all my presents I had received from both family and friends. The following day we ate my Birthday cake for breakfast at Kelly and her friends' (who also stayed over) request. When they had all left we went to our family meal with Roy at the Highwayman Inn, Cheltenham. I had my usual - chicken, chips and ketchup!

So, that's a brief outline (if you will) of how I celebrated my 18th... But, now on to the more interesting part - the pictures, courtesy of my flickr account.
