26 random facts about me

Intro

I'm Kim (born Kimberley) and otherwise known as Kimi/Kimmy, Chimmykins etc. People have a habit of naming me and I actually answer to all my names as well, when I can remember them, that is. Even people that don't know me seem to name me. I have very strong opinions on things. I'm a complete individual and happy with that, as it's better to be yourself than to follow the crowd. Isn't it?

Living Arrangements

I'm 21 from Gloucestershire, England and have lived here all my life so far in a middle sized house in a tiny village. I live here with my sister and my parents, but I hope to get a place of my own when I can afford too, I would love to live in London or Los Angeles.

On the outside

I'm about 5' 4" and would say I'm of an average body type, but what is 'average' these days? I have blue eyes and they look weird as one is bigger than the other, but sometimes you can't tell - it happened after being hit in my left eye by a golf club, I was nearly blind in that eye! There was blood everywhere. As a result I am also short-sighted and wear glasses.

My hair keeps changing colour, at the moment my natural colour, but it's been many colours, black, brunette, blonde (etc)... I want to put some purple in it next. I have 6 piercings, they are ear lobes twice, ear rim and the tragus, and I want to get my anti-tragus done next. I also have a tattoo that I love; it's on my lower back. Would you like to read more about my body modifications?

If you’re interested in the clothes and/or accessories I like to wear, 'my style' page has all the information you need. I have loads of scars, including one under my bottom lip due to something sharp (I don't remember what) going through my bottom lip to the top one, one near my eye from the golf club incident I spoke about before and one on my ankle but I don't remember how I got that one.

On the inside

I have quite an active imagination and can often be found in a day dream or a daze; I think a lot when I do this. I'm a night owl; I get all my energy when the sun goes down. This is also when I am able to contemplate on things and have time to myself. I'm quite arty and do various things of that nature including drawing, painting, sketching and most recently 'crafts'.

I love to read and have a wide range of books in my room from various genres including horror and sci-fi. I love Stephen King. I'm a fan of the Harry Potter (favourite no. 3 and 5) and Twilight books. I have more information and mini-reviews on the books I read. I'm a writer of poetry, and have been doing it since 2004 as a way of expressing my feelings; I have also started writing a story.

I'm quite open-minded at times and try to keep a clear head about things, but I can be rather pessimistic and paranoid. I have had to deal with a lot of stuff in my life, but I'm still standing. Although my experiences have given me a very negative world view and I tend to think that most people have an inferior motive against you, I have a hard job trusting people.

My favourite colours are purple and black, especially for clothing. I'm not sure what it is that attracts me to these colours however. I am also a lover of the fragrance lavender and sleep with a lavender scented pillow underneath my bigger ones.

Education and Career

Like most English girls I started out my education in Primary School, although I did attend a playgroup before hand. My Primary school was Sapperton CofE, although I don't remember a lot about my time there (well, it was quite a while ago now). After finishing Primary School in year six, I went onto Secondary School. I attended Cirencester Deer Park and I loved my time there, I know it's sad but part of me still misses my time there, even now. I met many great friends at Deer Park, most of whom I still speak to now even though it's been years since we left and even longer since we all started Deer Park back in year 7. It seems like such along time ago that I completed my GCSE's in year 11, in which I achieved pretty good results in them (ask me if you want to know) good enough to get me into college anyway! My leaver's ball for Deer Park (a prom type thing) was amazing! As was the day we left as well... If I remember I will post some pictures and a video of my last day and leavers ball as well.

After I left Deer Park I went onto Cirencester College where I met even more friends. Some of the greatest people I've ever met! In my first year of college I took three courses, which were AVCE ICT, AS Psychology and AS Archaeology, as well as the compulsory A Level General Studies (most boring subject ever!). I passed all my college exams and got enough UCAS points to get me into University, although I hated it and ended up withdrawing.

For my future career I can see myself doing something artistic (e.g. body piercer, tattooist, illustrator, writer/ journalist), something in retail or something within Information and Technology (more specifically web design or web editing). My ideas are all over the place right now and I keep changing my mind - like the weather.

Although I already have an A-Level in the web design field (it was part of my AVCE ICT college course) I would like a degree in it. Currently I am working as deputy manager in a shoe shop situated in my local town as well as looking into taking an online degree/home learning course as I think it'll suit me better than university.

Belief

I'm Wiccan and have been for years now, I'm not in a coven as I personally prefer the solitary path maybe one day I will be, but as of now I'm not. Being Wiccan is my personal choice for a belief and although I have had some minor discrimination because of it (mostly narrow minded people who don't understand it) all of my friends and most of my family respect and support my decision.

Aside from my religion I also believe in the following:

  • Ghosts
  • Guardian Angels
  • Life on other planets but not necessarily aliens
  • Believing in ones self

As well as my beliefs I also have an interest in other religions/beliefs, some of my favourites are Christianity (mostly Old Testament and the book of revelations), Hinduism (mostly there Gods) and Buddhism. I also have an interest in ancient history and cultures, e.g. the ancient Romans, Egyptians and Greeks (especially Greek mythology).

I am also interested in Archaeology and Palaeontology, I took an Archaeology course as part of my A Level studies which involved learning about the history of man in the Palaeolithic times - while interesting I was confused why we didn't learn about the history of the Romans since we are a Roman town and have an amphitheatre and museum down the road.

Fear

The only things I'm really afraid of are ants (after a whole ant's nest crawled over my legs and I got bit a lot) and public speaking.

Likes

Aside from the obvious things that I've previously mentioned, i.e. reading and arty things I also have the following hobbies/interests:
Writing song lyrics, Music - I used to play the piano and also have my own acoustic guitar and am self teaching myself to play it, taking photographs of anything/everything that I find the least bit interesting and/or entertaining and various types of computer art including photo manipulation.

I have quite a few TV programmes that I like and frequently watch; these are Skins, Bones, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Scrubs, Nip/Tuck, The Simpsons, Casualty, Holby City, Sugar Rush, Friends and Hollyoaks. Aside from these I also like to occasionally watch episodes of Red Dwarf, M*A*S*H and South Park. As well as various other British comedies, e.g. The Young Ones. I have also recently developed a liking for Stargate: SG1, my favourite character being Teal'c. My favourite TV programme of all time has to be Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which you probably have heard of (unless you've been living under a rock), I've been a fan of the show since it first aired in the UK in 1988 and still am to this day, my favourite characters are Willow and Faith. I am also very fond (that's an understatement) of Angel, Firefly and Tru calling.

Aside from TV programmes I also have a love for the classic coca cola Christmas advert! Christmas wasn't the same for me when the replaced it in 2006.

Internet-wise I enjoy the following web cartoons

As well as TV I'm a huge lover of movies and have seen quite a fair few but instead of just writing a huge list of them I will simply list my favourite (which is hard to do so as I don't really have one), which is Coyote Ugly, Gremlins (1 and 2) or Thirteen. I have an obsession with buying DVD's.

My favourite movie character has to be Gizmo from the movies Gremlins and Gremlins 2, why? One, he's cute, cunning and two I'm nick named after him.

I like to play video games in my spare time and have a small yet growing collection of various games, of various genres.
I own the following consoles:

  • Sony Playstation 2
  • Sega Mega Drive
  • Dreamcast
  • Nintendo Game Boy Colour
  • Nintendo DS Lite (black).
  • Sony Playstation 3.

Aside from console based games I don't really play any others (except for the occasional trading card game) and am really not keen on MMORPG's I find them boring. Although, I did get addicted to Maple Story for a while in October 2005.

I also have a love for a lot of random, some may say quirky things. One of weirdest I'm told is my love for vampires, which includes (but not is limited too) biting, vampire movies, the 'sex appeal' they seem to be associated with, as well as this weird Vampire fantasy which I will not go into. But ask and I will tell (most likely).

I like hugs, love bites, kisses, handcuffs, and sex. I'm sure I don't need to explain these (?) and that you can use your imagination as to why.

Having time to myself is a must for me. It gives me time to relax, chill-out, contemplate etc. However, I also love spending time with my wonderful mates. If it weren't for them I wouldn't be here now.

I am a big fan of tattoos and piercings and have some of my own. Even though I am a big fan of them as a whole, there are certain piercings/tattoos that I can't stand for various reasons, the main one being tongue piercings. I just can't see the attraction and find them off putting.

I love animals (even the ants I'm afraid of), my favourite animals are monkeys and dolphins.
In the future I would like to have the following pets:

  • My great African snails
  • A tarantula - I got one! Thursday 21st February 2008
  • Snakes
  • A chameleon
  • Tortoises
  • Hermit Crabs
  • Turtles
  • A frog of some sort

Not asking a lot am I?

I love to ask questions, "if you don't ask how will you learn". That's a quote I'm quite often heard saying and asking myself, having said that I hate being asked questions especially ones I don't know how to answer or simply don't have an answer too.
So, if you want to know more about my 'likes'... Ask.

I don't dislike many things except for the obvious general things, i.e. liars, homophobes, etc but I do dislike Monday mornings and brussel sprouts.

Music ♥ ♥

This needs a huge update, my music has changed a lot since I first wrote this! Also, it will no longer be a list - lists are tiresome.
Watch this space for updates.

Music is a big part of me, both listening and 'composing'. I love to sit up in my room for hours and listen to music or to write down how I feel into a song or poem. For the most part the music I listen to, I relate to in some way (mostly the lyrics) or it has something I can 'air guitar' too. However, I don't (no matter what some people may think) just listen to 'heavy' 'rock' music, far from it. My taste in music is a little bit of everything, I'll listen to anything once and if I like it I'll listen to it more. The people around me tend to have an impact on what I listen too, e.g. my sister - RnB, my dad - old rock, my mum - meat loaf/Michael Jackson (among others).

I'm a Guitar Hero addict.

If you would like to know what songs I've listened to recently view my last.fm profile.
