To begin, I am ill with flu so I won't be online for a while...
But I did want to take a second to say about the *Eternal Twilight* convention that is happening in Northhampton, England, this is an unofficial Twilight Convention for fans of the Twilight Saga and Stephenie Meyer. The 3 day convention will take place Friday, 27th Feb - Sunday, 1st March 2009.

Current guests are Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) and Kellan Lutz (Emmet Cullen).

Today is the annual blog day over at the .

The Quilting Bee is:
The Quilting Bee is an interactive online pixel club and friendship clique with members of all ages from all over the world.
Couldn't of explained it better myself...

The Quilting Bee to me is a fun and friendly environment where I can chat to new and interesting people via the Q*Bee forum known as the Bee*bee*s as well as through the internal email (bee*mail) the club has. One of the best things about the Q*Bee are the activities you can get involved in and the awards you can win. The current activity at the Q*Bee is the Christmas card sawp (which I still need to make cards for - woops) but my all time favourite (so far) was the Halloween goo party which was held in 2007 and was the first activity I took part in - I was a new*bee back then.
Here's the goo I created:

I now have been in the Q*Bee little over a year and I'm so glad I decided to join - like many others though I put it off for ages as I thought the club would of been elitist but it's far from it and I'm a better pixeller because of it! :D Though I'm still learning.

If your thinking of joining I say go for it! You won't regret it and don't forget to come and trade with me when you have. :)

Work has been really hectic at the moment what with all our sale preparation - which is up to me as the manager is on holiday this week. I haven't been able to get on the computer I've been really tired every day and my sister seems to hog it, but I've got the day off today so I'm catching up with things and writing my cards to the members taking part in the Q*Bee Christmas card swap. I'll hopefully get them posted tomorrow. If all goes well... I've also caught some kind of bug - runny nose, cough, groggy-ness, want to throw up but can't! :( It sucks.

I've finished my present wrapping - they're all displayed nicely in little gift bags ready to hand out on Xmas eve (maybe before), if only I was more organised with card writing and decorating.
How far are you with your preparations for Christmas?

It's finished! Well, it was actually finished on Saturday but as I was working I couldn't put it up. You should be able to see it now, if not please click Dark & Purple in the sidebar under 'Switch Skin'... Feedback is encouraged especially on the following areas that i'm not sure if I'm happy with:

The white header "Chimmyville" - I think maybe looks out of place? Took Aisling's advice (see comment) and lowered the opacity
The navigation - centralise it maybe? Centralised!
Customised forms?

Let me know any feedback you have. :)

P.S. Christmas shopping is finished! :D

I've been working all evening (since like 5:00) on a new layout for the website, it's a dark one. I've never done dark before and I'm quite pleased with the way it's turning out so far... Just needs a bit of tweaking here and there, especially within the sidebar. When it's finished I think I'll submit it for feedback over at Rev.iew.me , it's always good to get another persons perspective and as I know from lurking there you get a whole range of opinions from a lot of very different people - which is good. I hope to get it completely finished (tweaks and all) by the end of the week. :) Watch this space.

I know I've not been very active blog-wise lately. I've not been bothered to write anything and also have nothing to write... Instead I've been lurking at other people's blogs/personal websites and blog-hopping. Not much luck on the blog-hopping, I'll visit a site, read a bit, get bored, view their links, then leave. There have been a few however, that have interested me and that I haven't visited before (or are ones I don't visit often and have stumbled upon again). The main (new-ish to me) blog that I'm loving at the moment is dreamling.ca, which I got introduced to via the Just Blogged Thread? over at the Q*Bee and now I can't stop visiting. I love the unique writing style as well as the layout she currently has up. It's something I'd love to be able to design myself, but I'm not that talented. The little monster in the corner is a great touch. :D I've also been spending my time reading people's reviews at the new review site (I'm sure everyone has heard of) Rev.iew.me, which has also introduced me to websites I've not come across of before. (I'm not a member though).

I have also been to others but those are the main two I'm loving at the moment. As well as these two websites I also find myself stalking Jem's website, I rarely comment though - just lurk. :P

What blogs/websites are you loving lately?

Kim x

P.S. I'm nearly done with the whole Christmas shopping thing, only have four people left to go! :D Now, if only I was that organised with cards. :|

Firstly, Happy Belated Halloween to everyone. :D

Quite a bit has happened this last week:

Halloween - I did decorate the house, with my dad. It looked really good and we had a really good evening... Some idiot smashed our pumpkin though!
Saw 5 - Still not seen it and still not sure if I want too... Anyone seen it? Is it any good?
Quantum of Solace - Saw it Sunday night with Mark. I liked it although I though it lacked any real storyline. It was the action alone that kept me entertained.
Nearly finished my Christmas shopping! I've never been this organised Christmas-wise.
Work was hectic last week - busy, busy, busy and I was in charge.
Planning next week - I have it off.

Well, from that list it doesn't really look like a lot happened. Does it? It sure felt like I had a busy non-stop week and weekend though. (Maybe because I don't usually work on Saturday's).

Has anyone else been up to much?

Kim x

Edit: Stupid rain ruined my week off.

Looks like I won't get my design finished by the time October finishes :( disappointed as I've been working hard on it. I uploaded it to my site and have found it displays funny in IE and that some of the colours are a little light... Oh well, I've decided I'll keep it around and if I don't get it finished in time to save it for next year or something. So, looks like we'll be looking at dolphins for a little longer yet. ;)

Has anyone seen Saw 5? Is it any good? As I'm having mixed feelings about whether I want to see it or not as I don't want it to spoil the Saw series for me... Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Is anyone doing anything for Halloween? Dressing up? I unfortunately will be working on the actual day as well as the Saturday too. :( No late night for me then. It'll probably be the first year I don't anything - it sucks! Halloween is one of my favourite holidays. I'll likely still decorate the house though.

Have a good week

I am working on a design for the month of October, a Halloween themed one. I don't know why but I like to have holiday themed layouts up (when they're needed). So, please bare with me and don't be surprised if the website looks funny for a bit as I am also re-vamping my coding, I've kind of let it go as of late and been lazy. Depending on how much time I get I hope the layout to be up by the weekend at the latest or it'll be pointless seeing as Halloween is next week.

On another note it was my 1 year Bee*versity (anniversary) at the Q*Bee yesterday! :D

Enjoy your week's everyone.

Visitors with arachnophobia (or those that hate spiders) should ignore this entry... Or at least don't look at the pictures. :|

Hermy had her first molt, i.e. the shedding of her old skin (since she's been with me), three days ago. It was really fascinating to watch and having finished her molt she is now quite a lot bigger and a gorgeous orange-y colour.

Here are a couple of pictures of Hermy and/or her molt (shed skin). At the moment it looks like I have two tarantulas in the tank instead of one:

(Sorry if you have trouble making Hermy out on them - I didn't want to use the flash).

Wow, has it really been nearly a fortnight since I've actually posted on my blog? Lately I've been working non-stop (one of the girls at work is on holiday - has been the last fortnight) and trying to fix the IE6 and 7 float bug this layout seems to of acquired! (I hate IE.) It works find in IE8 though. :)
Written a (very) mini review on the movie Death Race, which I saw last weekend (with Mark)... Aside from that though, I've really not been up to a lot else. Hopefully I'll have more exciting things to blog about next week (I have the week off of work! :D ).

Hope everyone has a good week (what's left of it) and a good weekend. :)

P.S. I've started my Christmas shopping already... :| Too early.

I received my second review from PSGR yesterday, i have now added it to my website along with my thoughts and opinions about the review. Alternatively you could read the review at PSGR itself.

I'm feeling really un-inspired sight wise lately - aside from the things I've procrastinated about for so long and should really get around to doing. I just don't have the time, what with work and everything. But, I do have some holiday coming up (Oct 11th for a week and Nov 8th for a week) so maybe I'll feel motivated.

Kim x
P.S. I'm enjoying driving on my own! :D

Cutenews layouts... -_-

I've been blog hopping a lot today and have come across websites where people are actually creating layouts especially for Cutenews. :| Now I've used Cutenews and if I remember rightly they actually give you an include to use, e.g.

<?PHP
include("cutenews/show_news.php);
?>

to place Cutenews on your website/weblog (I think it was in the read me file). I believe they also use templates too. Most of the layouts I came across were either celebrity or neopets related. Some people were even charging for the service.

Is this a new thing? Or has anyone else seen them?

Kim x

Edit// Also, have a new skin up... I'm not 100% finished customising it yet but I'm liking what I've got so far. It was inspired by the sunset I am currently watching. \

BOGOF Offers

We're having a BOGOF (Buy One Get One Free) offer running at the moment at work, it's going pretty OK so far but the one thing that is really annoying me about it is the following "joke" our customers seem to have all thought of:

Haha! Buy one get one free! Does that mean you buy one foot and get the other one free? Hahahahahaa!

Yes, of course that's what it means - because you usually walk out of the shop with only one foot when you buy them, don't you? Isn't your joke clever. I hear that joke at least ten times everyday and it's really bugging me... It makes them look like they can't read too, as the poster clear says (and I quote) "Buy one pair of shoes and get the cheapest pair free.

In other "news", I've seen a couple of movies (Hellboy and Hellboy 2 to be exact), have been watching a lot of Scrubs, went to Pizza Hut with Mark, had an indoor picnic (also with Mark), put up a new skin and made a load of new link buttons. :) Not too much then.

Hope everyone has a good week.

I've moved to http://www.chimmyville.co.uk I think it is a lot better suited to me now than Numb Angel is. Numb Angel no longer is me or a part of me.
My site can still be accessed by http://www.chimmykins-numbangel.co.uk and http://kimmyc.cjb.net as they both re-direct to this new domain name, please change your links. :)

Please bear with me while I change my coding to point to the new address as opposed to http://kimmyc.cjb.net or http://www.chimmykins-numbangel.co.uk may take a while (have you seen how many pages this site has?) I hope to have everything ready in a few days though... With a new skin to come. :)

Enjoy your weekend everyone

I feel I've been neglecting my site a bit recently, most of my time has been spent working and over at The Q*Bee (if any bee's would like to trade sandcastles with me please bee mail me). I'm getting bored of this layout I've currently got up but have had no inspiration for something new, ideas anyone? I want something simple and maybe purple.

You may remember I said I was taking the week of 4th-9th August off work? I did, but I didn't get up to a lot:

Saw Space Chimps and National Treasure 2
Cooked spaghetti and German meatballs with Mark
Went to Cadbury's World! Yum, free chocolate... 4 bags of buttons, 2 Curly Wurly's, 2 dairy milk bars. Mark also decided to buy the 5kg bar of dairy milk from the shop there!
Did some jobs for Mark's nan...
Went to Thorpe Park! :D Finally got to go on Stealth! :D 205ft in air, 0-80mph in about 2 seconds! I loved it.
Shopped
Saw Wall*E! Very cute movie
Saw Devil Wears Prada

So that was my week in a very short bullet-y list, so as not to make this entry too long.

Last night I went to see Star Wars: The Clone Wars with Mark. Thoughts? Pretty good story line (I felt that that you needed to see the tv show (Clone Wars) to understand a lot of what was going on - which I hadn't), awesome animation, recommend to any Star Wars fans.

Hope everyone is enjoying there Summer.

I saw The Dark Knight last week (on Tuesday to be exact) and I must say it's the best movie I've seen this year (so far). It more than lived up to the hype that's been surrounding it for month's. The story line was very good except I was a bit confused about one part (no spoilers here) as I thought that it happened differently in the comic books and Mark agreed with me but as side from that minor point, I was very impressed by it. As for Heath Ledger I can now see why people think he should deserve an Academy Award or Oscar for the role, it was a very difficult role to play and he really did it justice. Better than Jack Nicholson? Honestly I love both Joker's for different reasons, I don't think either is better than the other. Heath's performance was a lot more sadistic than that of Jack. The writer's did an excellent job on the Joker character.

As for the other actors they all did an amazing job I especially loved Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent), Michael Caine (Alfred) and Gary Oldman (Detective Gordon) they helped make the movie what it is. As for Christian Bale I think he is the best Batman so far, I have more empathy for this Batman than I did for any of the others.

In short I loved this movie, however I could feel it dragging a bit in some parts and could really tell it was going on for 2 and a half-ish hours. =/ But, I loved it nonetheless.

Space Chimps, National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets and things
Aside from seeing The Dark Knight I have also seen two other movies recently, Space Chimps and National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets.

Space Chimps was watchable but one I'd more likely recommend you watch on DVD, it had it's funny moments but I was left thinking for a lot of it "What were they smoking when they made this!?" The plot seemed to make sense and then made none at all - very hit and miss but again I say watchable. National Treasure 2 on the other hand was very good, Nicholas Cage was as funny as he was in the last previous film and it lived up to my expectations of it. As sequels go I think it was as good as (if not better than) the first one.

I have the next coming week (4th - 9th) off work, I've booked it as holiday. I'm not sure what I will be doing with it yet though... Any ideas?

As for Heath Ledger I can now see why people think he should deserve an Academy Award or Oscar for the role, it was a very difficult role to play and he really did it justice. Better than Jack Nicholson? Honestly I love both Joker’s for different reasons, I don’t think either is better than the other. Heath’s performance was a lot more sadistic than that of Jack. The writer’s did an excellent job on the Joker character.

Space Chimps was watchable but one I’d more likely recommend you watch on DVD, it had it’s funny moments but I was left thinking for a lot of it “What were they smoking when they made this!?” The plot seemed to make sense and then made none at all—very hit and miss but again I say watchable. National Treasure 2 on the other hand was very good, Nicholas Cage was as funny as he was in the last previous film and it lived up to my expectations of it. As sequels go I think it was as good as (if not better than) the first one.

I have the next coming week (4th—9th) off work, I’ve booked it as holiday. I’m not sure what I will be doing with it yet though… Any ideas?
